GEARING UP FOR OUR 67TH OPENING DAY!

WE ARE GEARING UP FOR OUR 67TH OPENING DAY! Want to play a role? We are Recruiting!

The Rotary Clubs of Monroe County are pleased to host Camp Haccamo for its 67th season. This year’s dates are July 31 - August 4 for ages 7 to 18, and August 7-11 for adults ages 19 to 30. Camp Haccamo is a one-of-a-kind place that offers a FREE and fun, overnight camping experience for individuals with emotional and/or physical disabilities. Know someone that can benefit? Please call us now!

With 24-hour nursing care and a ratio of one counselor per two campers, Haccamo provides a safe environment while caregivers are given an opportunity to rest, knowing their loved ones are in good hands having fun, making friends, and developing skills, confidence, and independence.

And all the iconic activities are returning: ziplining, swimming, arts and crafts, carnival night, prom night, a talent show, campfires, and much more.

Are you interested in being part of Camp Haccamo? “We are always looking for an extra set of hands for gardening, camp support, paperwork, chaperoning, and more,” says Dolly Kujawa, executive director. “It takes many hands to make smiles grow!”

“There’s a great need for programs like Camp Haccamo geared specifically for emotionally fragile and behaviorally challenged children and adults. That’s why we are extremely pleased to welcome campers back for another memorable summer,” says Robert Williams, President of Camp Haccamo’s Board of Directors and a Webster Rotarian.

Camp Haccamo is supported by 13 dedicated Rotary Clubs: Brighton, Brockport, Fairport, Gates Chili, Hilton, Honeoye Falls-Mendon, Irondequoit, Monroe South, Penfield, Pittsford, Rush Henrietta, Spencerport, and Webster.
